Steve Giddings makes his way up a frozen waterfall at the Ouray Ice Festival in Ouray, Colorado. Ice climbers require ice axes, crampons, rope and harness as well as a great deal of balance and focus. The Ouray Ice Festival is located in the Uncompahgre Gorge and is held once a year during Martin Luther King weekend.

The Park is funded mostly by the Ouray Ice Festival that happens every Martin Luther King weekend and by the festivals corporate sponsers.
